Matt 7:13 ( Enter ye in at the strait gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many there be, which go in there at.)
In the late seventies, when I first gave my life to Christ in secondary school, then I joined the Scripture Union, following them to programs. Christians then were respected all over; when you see the way they dressed, it signified holiness, and also their behavior in society was different entirely from that of the world; then, if employers were looking for employees, they would go to one particular Christian organization to search for workers.
It’s unfortunate now that Satan started sending his agents from the nineties to bring the doctrine of Broadway, which removes holiness out of the divine equation and leaves salvation with worldliness.
There are two gates at the end of the road to eternity, broad gate and the narrow gate, it depends on your choice that determines the gate you enter; people that find themselves at broad gate after death chose it from the beginning, since they chose to live their life according to their heart desire without taken God into consideration.
Narrow way is the way that requires self denial and crucifixion of the flesh by dying daily to the world and it’s allurement; any preaching that doesn’t involve this is a broad way teaching which will add nothing to Christian value, but only minus from it.
It’s the way you chose that you will find yourself at the end of your journey, Jesus Christ is admonishing us here to pass through narrow gate if we truly want to reach the presence of God, any other way to Him is a counterfeit.
Even the preacher of this day are presenting broad way Christianity, that you can choose to live according to your selfish desire and still make heaven, this is broad way gospel that was sent from the pit to confuse the way of God.
One of the doctrine of the broad way is once save forever save, they magnify it for one to continue living in sin and still claim relationship with Christ .
Broad way Christianity don’t honour the Word by not living by it, they chose God as their savior but reject Him as their Lord.
They only want the benefits of the cross, but not desire to go there.
They honour Him with their mouth, but their heart is far from Him, they preached the Bible but their actions speaks against it.
This is the preaching of those who merchandise the gospel to fill their pockets, in the beginning it wasn’t so.
This is a new generation of Christians who refused to live their lives with heaven in view, but to perpetuate their stay on earth and still be comfortable serving God; those who follows it and the preachers are already on the broad way which they will meet themselves in the end so soon if they refuse to repent..
Narrow way won’t allowed extra load on the journey, it only accept natural, without any artificial ornaments or attachments to your hair or the body, this kind of things will only disqualify you from entering.
I remember a small girl of eight years that died with artificial ornaments on her body, before she gave up the ghost, all what she was saying is, ” please open the gate, I want to enter, open the gate please” without any response from the other side before she gave up.
Narrow way is the way of submission to divine Will without complaints, the way of living in “thus saith the Lord” without minding the conveniences.
Narrow way is not passing short cut to your destination, because all short cut make the journey longer and will cut short the life without fulfilling the purpose one was created.
Jesus Christ is the entrance to the narrow gate, the way of Adam is the broad way inherited from the fall, it’s the way of the flesh which you do according to your will and your carnal desire, where no one can query you, because it’s your right as human beings, but not in the will of God.
The real bondage is found on the broad way, that’s where Satan lay trap to catch men’s leg unaware and drag them to the pit.
It’s the path of darkness those who pass there will fall into pit without knowing where it’s dug.
As the Israelites departed from God and went after Baal , so also the Christians of this generation pervert their way and started running after strange god who is pretending to be Christ in the name of modernized gospel, but their fruit will reveal who they followed.
Narrow way is the way of true freedom where you live according to the will of God and break free from the chains of sin and the flesh.
Christians who are on the broad way are love and accepted by every dick and harry of the society, they were praise by infidels because they’re on the same path that lead to hell.
Narrow gate won’t permit worldliness, it attract persecution and rejection, that’s why all who want to pass there must be ready to carry their Cross and deny themselves, this is antidote to rejection and persecution that may comes up on the way.
Prayer: Father Lord, bring me back if I am on the wrong path by your mercy in Jesus name amen.
