Matt 15:9 ( But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.)
The most terrible and terrifying thing a man can do in life is to worship in vain, but it’s unfortunate that this is what many are doing, thinking they’re serving God but in the end find themselves on the wrong side.
How many people are serving God under His wrath, or how many men are serving Satan under the pretext of worshipping the most high God?
Many will be disappointed on the last day by the time they discover that they had indeed served wrong all this while, but it would have been too late to restitute as the judgement of God would have been set forever.
Jesus Christ clarified it in the word of God that “those who worship God must worship in spirit and in truth; they are the ones that Father seeks to worship Him.”.
He also said that He is the only way to the presence of God; if we’re to serve God in spirit and in truth, we must pass through the only way that leads to His presence.
Taking a short cut to His presence only results in vain worship; by forsaking the law and the ordinances of God and abide in the teaching and the commandments of men, you will lead nowhere.
Those who decided to take the back side by avoiding the Cross are deceiving themselves, for without the Cross there is no justification nor the forgiveness of sin, and without forgiveness there is no heaven.
Its at the cross that all the loads of sin and it’s consequences shall be dumped, and every accusation from the enemy shall be annulled; it’s this that’ll lead to spiritual advancement in our journey onto God.
Whoever’s serving God not because He is God and worthy of all of our service but because of the vanity of life is serving in vain.
What is called “vanity” is service without gain; this is attributed to all satanic worship and religious worship and to those who worship in the flesh and not according to the direction of the Holy Spirit.
Those who serve because of the things
ephemeral will soon backslide the moment it entered their hands; why should they proceed since they had what their heart desires?
We can’t put vain things above God and claim to see His face; this is what all who serve God because of ephemeral things are doing, and this will become an obstacle between them and God in the end.
It’s only those who serve God for whom He is that will enjoy His fullness; those who worship for other motives will soon digress if what they desire isn’t coming forth.
Many are seeking the gift but not the giver; this is the reason some believe that all gifts come from God, because as they see the gifts, they’re satisfied.
God is not in charge of what he doesn’t give and will never give what will not glorify His name.
God gave His word for a reason, not for us to digress from an iota of it while seeking His face; if you can’t face the direction of His word, there is no way you won’t be carried away by Satan’s distractions.
It’s very unfortunate that most Christians that started well but couldn’t finish well end up serving in vain; they abandoned the voice of the Holy Spirit that’s echoing from His Word to listen to the voice of the flesh.
It’s the expectation of the righteous that won’t be cut short, but whoever relies on his righteousness to seek God’s face won’t see what he is expecting but should wait for the undiluted wrath of God.
God does not desire that anyone should worship in vain; that’s why he set up His standard for Christians to follow; whoever fell short of it has fallen short of the glory of God.
This is the definition of iniquity if we fall below divine standards.
We need to die daily to the flesh in order to achieve this; 99.9% is not allowed in divine calculation; perfection must be achieved if we don’t want to end up worshipping in vain.
Many people are serving Satan, thinking they’re serving the most high God; it’s in the end they will realise that they’ve served wrong.
Those who serve under any religion have missed the way; religion can’t save; salvation comes only in the knowledge of God and His Christ.
Prayer: Father lord, do not allow my worship to end up in the vanity of life, in Jesus name, amen.
