John 14:2 ( In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you)
This is the assurance of Christ for His disciples while on earth that as He was going, he would go and prepare a place for them in His Father’s house, that wherever he is, there also will His followers be.
It’s our responsibility to find ourselves in God to secure our place where Christ is.
A man was boasting to his friend about his mansions in every city and every country, but his wise friend pointed to the sky and asked him, do you have a mansion up there?
This is a good question that each of us must answer before we depart from this world; we are sojourners in the world; this place is not our own; after we shed our house on earth, there is a place prepared for us in our Father’s kingdom.
How do you prepare for your eternal resting place?
Some Christians started construction in their heavenly mansion, but they never got there because they were swept away by the waves of the world’s glory.
Judas was building with Christ before he used his hand to scatter it; his house was in heaven, but he was absent there.
He followed Christ for a while but lost his reward through betrayal.
The mentality of the rich in our midst is to build houses in every corner of the earth to secure their future and that of their children, without minding where they will spend eternity; many of us are not even sure if they will live there per their wishes.
They refused to send resources to heaven and secure their eternal future.
The Bible says the first will become last while the last will be the first; that will be the situation of the first on the financial ladder in the world when many of them won’t even have toilets to stay in heaven.
I heard of a missionary who collected his gratuity and spent all on missionary works, he sold all his properties and proceeded to a strange land to win souls for Christ.
Many Christians keep on building houses that their children will later sell or become dilapidated and lose value after they die.
Whatever we build on earth is not permanent, some are built to impress others and they will never be habited.
The people in hell are there because of their lack of preparation for the afterlife; had they prepared and spent all their lives doing the lord’s will, they wouldn’t have gone there.
There was a king who loved one of his jesters so much that he gave him a pendant and named him the most foolish in the land.
When the king was about to die, the man came to his deathbed and asked if he has prepared for that journey, the king shook his head and replied no, and this man removed the chain from his neck and hung it on the neck of the dying king that, this title no more belong to me, it is you that is fitted for it because you’re the most foolish person in the world as you failed to prepare for your journey of no return.
Are we not the most foolish person on earth if we fail to invest in our eternal habitation in heaven? How much do you contribute to building God’s house on earth?
I am not talking about the brick building, but the humans that are created as the habitations of the Almighty.
How much do you contribute in building them up in the image of Christ so that they will glorify God for your life for what you have done to bring them from hopeless situations to the limelight of the knowledge of God?
How much do you spend for the church of God in making people know Christ more by your contribution to His works?
Do you have time to preach the gospel to others and bring them to the knowledge of the kingdom?
A little here and a little there is your contribution that’ll grow and yield harvest to the building of your eternal habitation.
Jesus Christ became poor so that we’ll be rich, and our riches will be to expand His kingdom on earth; it’s not only for our needs but for the needs of others who are coming into the kingdom.
Some can not even release their cars for the propagation of the gospel; some people meet men on their return from revival or retreat and won’t carry them but claim to do the work of God.
It’s your investment in the kingdom of God on earth that contributes to building your of heavenly mansions.
That is the investment, we’ll harvest the proceed forever that’ll contribute to our eternal comfort in our father’s house.
It’s only those who follow Christ on earth and live according to His will that will be with him in His Father’s house; those who work for him but not in His will shall be cast out from His presence.
The house there only belongs to the sons and daughters; servants will soon relocate to their father’s house, where there will be sorrow and gnashing of teeth.
Many Christians think that it’s their work for God that’ll secure a house for them up there, it’s not only by working for Christ, even the devil too is working for Him to bring God purpose to pass in the life of the saints and mankind in general, those who have a house there are doing his will till the end even though it’s not convenient to their flesh.
They abandoned everything that made life comfortable and followed him till the end; they denied themselves, carried their Cross and followed Him without looking back.
Is it you that God will say through your leaders that you remove your earrings or stop using attachments and jewelry, and you will remain adamant and wait till God comes down to tell you that you want to live with him in His Father’s mansions?
Some Christians spend their life for themselves, not for Christ; it’s life that is spent for God and die in Him that will enjoy with Him in his Father’s house.
Our life and our body belong only to Christ; it’s wrong to take the things that belong to God and offer them to the devil in doing his service.
So also, all who used their life in serving the flesh won’t have an inheritance with Him in his Father’s mansions.
Prayer: Father Lord, take anything that won’t allow me to enjoy with you in your Father’s house away in Jesus name. Amen.
