Joshua 1:8 (This book of law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shall meditate therein day and night, thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for them shalt thou have good success.)
It’s true that men of wisdom and understanding always meditate on how to succeed in life and bring out their family out of miserable condition; some are thinking of ways out of poverty and wretched state by doing things against the law of their land.
Good Success or Bad Success: What Do They Mean?
There is good success and there is bad success; success that doesn’t glorify God is on the bad side; it depends on the side you belong that will determine if your success is on the good side; any success that’s against the word of God is on the side of the devil, to populate the kingdom of darkness and depopulate the kingdom of God.
How To Achieve Good Success
God told Joshua what to do to achieve great things in Him and for his achievements to be recorded as successful in life.
He said the Word of God should not depart from his mouth, he should always speak it out and not be ashamed to declare it in public.
He should meditate on it day and night: which means he should retain it in his heart for it not to escape his thoughts.
He should do according to what is written there; this Word would always show in his actions towards God and to man.
The Word of God Is The Secret
This secret to being successful is hidden in the word of God; as He was telling Joshua, so are we, the children of God of now, as we are planning to achieve great things for God and for humanity; that is our assignment on earth, our primary responsibilities to the world of the living.
Word of God is the paramount thing we can’t do without if we want to receive “welcome faithful servant” at the end of life journey.
This Word is the compass of the soul that won’t make it go astray; it’s the guidance that won’t make our foot slip in the dungeon of darkness; it’s also the light that illuminates and leads us through the darkness on the way.
God gave us the Word since the creation and this Word will stand at the gate in the end, to measure us accordingly, if there is nothing inside that’ll testify against us on the day of judgement.
The Bible says no iota of His word will go unfulfilled, but it’s unfortunate that men, including Christians, are despising the Word and try to make it none effective in their relationship with God and mankind.
The more we negate this Word in our life and remove it’s power to guide and influence our character, the more we slip into darkness and lose our right to succeed in whatever we want to achieve.
Daily meditation of the Word is needed if we want to achieve our goal, because that goal is hidden in the Word, not in our brain.
It’s inside the Word the secret of Satan is exposed, with all his traps against humanity revealed, those who put the word aside to fight against him will surely become his captives in the end.
It’s in the Word our enemy is revealed, Satan is our enemy but he works with our selfish ambitions to truncate the plan of God, he always go around roaring like lion looking for his preys, it’s those who hold onto things that agree with him, that he will lure with temptations and achieve his goal in blocking their progress.
Before we can be successful, we need to visit Calvary to destroy things related with darkness in our soul, when the tempter comes, he won’t find anything related to him in us.
I can’t understand how some people go against the Word of God in their lives and are still striving for success in the things related to God. This kind of behavior amounts to rebellion, which won’t go unpunished.
Those who succeed by following devil’s way has entered his bondage, their success will fulfill devil’s plan for their life and used them to fight against the programs of God.
That is why you see some people who got their wealth through dubious means, going into the hotel and casino business with all manners of shady things that won’t bring glory to God.
It’s either your life is under the direction of God or of the devil no middle ground in the journey of life, you can’t stand on your own to achieve success, this world is purely spiritual.
If we measure success in the ways of the world, we might call Jesus Christ a failure, who died miserably on the cross without having any support in his death. The way of God is different from man’s; He achieved what He came to do; by His death, He overcame the forces of darkness to receive his crown; it’s through His death on the cross that he became the most successful man that ever lived.
He obey the Word of God to the letter, he didn’t deviate from it from the beginning to the end; this is the way He chose for us to follow.
It’s unfortunate that Christians desire success so desperately that they try to bypass the Word to please their enemy; they’re deviating gradually into the realm of darkness, which they wouldn’t know until they reach the end and end up in hell.
God told Joshua to meditate on the Word day and night and do according to all that is written therein; it should not depart from his mouth; that’s what will make his way prosperous and have good success.
This Word cannot and will never change, no matter what we do to achieve great things, if it’s not in line with the Word, it’s wasted in the sight of heaven and will stand against us on the day of judgement.
Some will bow for the devil in exchange for the world’s glory and later bring it to the church to surrender it at the Lord’s feet; later they will know that it’s the purpose of Satan they’re achieving because their wealth will soon become a stumbling block for others, preventing them from accessing the presence of God.
Success have nothing to do with the world’s glory, to be successful is not necessary to be wealthy, but you won’t beg for food or borrow to eat, the grace of God will be sufficient to supply whatever is needed to fulfill what you’re sent to the world to do.
Whoever wants to achieve great things for God should follow the way of Christ; if it leads to their death, that is what God wants to achieve; even if it leads to poverty, it’s the will of God as long as He achieves His purpose for creating us; that suffices.
Many fulfilled their mission and end up in prison, our greater glory is when we enter His presence in heaven.
Those who parade Satan’s shrine in order to succeed are lining up to be enlisted in his army. We are on a battlefield; either you’re on the Lord’s side or on the side of the enemy; it is your attitude toward the Word that will make the difference.
Without God in our life, whatever we achieve is not for His glory, God created us for His glory, all who are called by His name.
Prayer: Father Lord, consume everything that wants to stand on my way of success in life, in Jesus name, amen.
