OUR JOURNEY INTO GOD
Heb 3:8,9 ( Harden not your heart, as in the day of provocation, in the day of temptations in the wilderness; when your fathers tempted me, prove me, and saw my works forty years)
Christians started their journey to His divine presence by being translated from the kingdom of darkness and the wilderness of life: under the direction of Holy spirit and the written Word of God.
Our journey is based on faith in God and His written word to do all that is in it that’ll lead to our destination in God.
Most Christians confuses faith to tempting God, they listen to God but desire to go contrary to His words, they are following the desire of their hearts that’s contrary to the law of God.
Israelites did the same thing in the wilderness and most of them didn’t enter the promise land.
Salvation is not the end of our journey, it’s the key to enter into His presence as the sons of God, our goal for being saved is to embark on a journey into God, when we reach inside God, we enter into eternity.
We are saved to enter into divine rest by constant obedience to the law of God and total submission to His will.
It’s unfortunate that not all who left Egypt enter the rest of God, they didn’t have faith in Him but fight against His Will throughout their wilderness experience, they end up fashioned god for themselves and saw His wrath.
There are different gods that some Christians fashion for themselves nowadays, gods from our own imagination that’s not the God of the Bible.
God that doesn’t create the earth will surely perish with the earth, god that football players and basketball players prayed to on the field that’ll help them win the world cup.
The god of celebrities and the god that allowed gay and lesbians to come to him without repentance; god of the world that allowed disobedience to the ordinance of God without remorse.
God that allows women to come to his presence half naked, some with attire of an harlots and men’s wear which is against the law of the Bible.
As the Israelites fashioned golden images for themselves to replaced the presence of God, so also Christians has fashioned their God’s that do their will even though they works in constant disobedience.
We always test God by not abiding in Him and still want Him to continue as the God we desire.
This is not the God of the Bible, definitely not the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, this is not the Jesus of Calvary but that of our own imagination.
As the coming of Jesus Christ is drawing nearer, Satan is intensifying his battle against Christians, for them to miss the purpose they were created, and to make them serve God under His wrath.
This is what the children of Israel did in the wilderness and perish under His anger.
Faith in God is to believe in what is written concerning Him and do according to it, we only exercise faith when we are in need of things, but not living by His Word.
Living in constant disobedience when we know his Will is tempting God, and say, what will He do?
We commit adultery and fornication with all manners of immorality and still appears to praise and pray to Him among the people of God.
This is the way of the heathens, they serve god which they can control, “but the potion of Jacob is not like them, for he is the former of all things, the lORD of host is His name”.
He is the dread of Jacob, the LORD of host that sit among the cherubim.
We know Him through His Word, He manifest to His people who called on His name and walk in total obedience to His law.
The god that appears in the gathering where the fear of God is lacking is not the real God, their fruit will showcase where they belong.
God of Abraham, and Isaac and Jacob won’t appear where His name is being mocked by their character, but another god will surely fill that vacuum to pretend as the most high.
It’s only the wrath of God that will appear where faith in Him is not exercised, this followed by curse and diverse afflictions in the life that doesn’t glorify His name; this is the cause of spiritual stagnation in our walk with God, and we won’t know the origin until we go back to the basic.
That is the reasons those who are doing their own will in God’s service are claiming to serve the same God with us, since their god meet their demands and answer their prayers, but unfortunately he doesn’t have heaven to take them to after they died, it’s also the heaven he fashioned for them in their imagination that he will take them, not the heaven where God reigns.
They may start this journey having God in mind, but were diverted on the way by their constant disobedience to the law of God without taking cognizant of the aftermath, that’s when other gods took over to control the affairs of their life, but at the end, their sin will find them out and put them where they actually belongs.
