Gen 1:26 ( And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping things that creeps upon the earth.)
God made man in His image and after His likeness, they were to become fully into the likeness of God had they first eaten out of the tree of life in the midst of the garden and live forever.
It’s in His likeness that man’s dominion resides over every creature in the earth, the sea, and the air.
He gave man every herb of the garden as food, but forbade him not to eat the tree of the knowledge of evil and good. Restriction wasn’t made on the tree of life; unfortunately, man didn’t get there before he was chased out of Eden.
It’s in the likeness of God that man is fully complete, and inside of Him resides his perfection.
Sin made man fall short of what he was created to be and became short of divine glory; what he was supposed to dominate started having dominance over him.
This in turn became our lost state and made us gradually become in the likeness of the devil as his nature was imputed in man after the fall.
Christ came to the world to show us what the image of God looks like in His personality and to turn us into His likeness by living according to His will and following His way.
Apostles were first called Christians in Antioch as they reflected the image and the likeness of Christ with their nature and characters.
The image of God is within the soul. It comes after redemption when the flesh is pulled down from the throne of the heart and Jesus is enthroned.
We become His likeness in following His path in love and humility to the honour of His name.
Most Christian lives are defaming Christ, defaming the image that they were created and redeemed to be.
They make the LORD sad with their character to the world and within the body of Christ.
How will they exercise dominion in this kind of situation?
What makes us Christ-like is absent in our nature. Remember, the opposite of Christlikeness is devillike; if you can’t manifest the image of Christ for men to see, definitely Satan is your father with the nature of deception and lies still manifesting inside while claiming you belong to God.
It’s only those who overcome the image of the serpent and become the image and the likeness of God that shall be glorified because they’re overcomers, who subdued sin and the flesh that made them live by the likeness of the devil.
Operating in the likeness of God is what makes us trample upon serpents and scorpions and, over all, the power of the devil. It’s when we operate in His likeness that we put Satan’s work on hold in cities and communities, including the nations.
The essence of our regeneration and the purpose of our redemption is to bring the kingdom of God down to the earth, to subdue nations and kingdoms for Christ.
A gathering of Christians that should reflect His likeness but becomes a replica of the devil has turned to cult already. They do things that work against the progress of the kingdom.
If one hundred men gathered to manifest the image and the likeness of God in a society, they will surely turn the whole world around for Jesus Christ, while the world will become like heaven, where the will of God has preeminence.
This is the essence of the Lord’s prayer: to make the world like heaven and bring the kingdom of God down to the earth.
The more we pray down the kingdom of God, the more we increase men that are manifesting His image and His likeness and subduing nations for Christ.
It’s in His likeness that we have dominion over sickness and diseases that Satan is sending to ravage the world. He promised us that the disease of Egypt won’t have dominion over us.
Satan has power over men to turn them to his spiritual cupboard, where he keeps things and demons for destructive purposes.
It’s not until we overcome witches and wizards in our communities that we are more than conquerors: have you overcome that greed and covetousness, the attribute of the devil, or have you overcome lies and lust, with the pride that hid behind self-respect?
If all these are found in us, we are automatically subjected to the wiles of our enemy and susceptible to his future attack.
This kind of thing manifested to indicate that we’re yet to be transformed into His image and become His likeness; we need to work on this before the role is called up further so that we won’t be found to be wanting.
It’s through His likeness that we’re able to pull down Satanic strongholds in the hearts of men to establish the reign of Christ.
There is no difficulty in the dictionary of God; “with God all things are possible.” its the lesser state of Adam that makes things difficult. Until we are elevated spiritually to His likeness that we can operate like God.
By the time we dump our self-righteousness to put on the righteousness of Christ, we will realize that all things are possible where He reigns.
We move from the natural realm to the supernatural, even though we belong to the earth. We bring His will to pass as we operate in His likeness in whichever situation we find ourselves in.
Satan ended up martyring the apostles because he lacked access to their bodies to plant sickness. It’s very strange in a time like this that many ministers of God are dying by arrows of the devil fired into them.
Satan has access to anyone that’s yet to receive transformation into the divine image and will use their body as dumping ground to dump things and demons that he will use as instruments for human destruction, that he’ll later dump in hell, including those he used as instruments.
Prayer: Father, lord, elevate my spiritual status to become your likeness in Jesus Christ name
