(To the Cross or to the grave)
Proverbs 14:12 (There is a way which seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death)
Man’s journey ends in one of these destinations, the cross or the grave; it depends on who is leading you that’ll determine the end of your journey.
Natural man goes through life blindfolded and ends his journey in the grave without the knowledge of where he was going until he gets there, but spiritual man will head towards the Cross to have his old life buried and receive a new life that’ll help him overcome the power of death and the grave.
The cross is the place where sins are forgiven, old nature is buried, and a new life is given, while the grave is the destination of all who failed to allow Jesus to lead them through the journey of life; they’ll end up where their purpose and their glory shall be buried.
Everyone living is going towards one destination, which is the grave. It’s the voice of resurrection and life that is calling man to divert him from the way of destruction to the way of the cross and have their souls raised from the grave to the new life in God, where they’ll have their sins forgiven before it’s too late.
Those who are directed to the way of the cross will have themselves buried with all their selfish ambitions at the feet of the cross, and everything that’s bringing separation between them and God shall give way.
This is where they aligned with their maker according to His purpose for their life, to receive new life in Him and be transforming to the image of Christ, which is only acknowledged by God.
The Cross is the burial site of human nature and every manifestation of its work, the place of life exchange, and new nature given.
It’s the place where our filthy rag of self-righteousness is dumped and we are clothed with the righteousness of Christ as our wedding garments.
It’s the work of every preacher to direct their listeners to Calvary and have their sins forgiven, but unfortunately, most preachers are yet to go there; even most of them don’t know the way. How will they direct others?
If their direction leads to the way of the dead, that is where they will direct men. It’s only those who know the way to the cross that can lead men there to be justified before God.
Check your life and know your direction before it’s too late to make amendments, because after death there is nothing to be done, only to look for judgement and fiery indignation that shall devour the adversary.
Grave is the richest place on earth because that is where great destinies are buried, when they never fulfilled the purpose for which they were created.
Are you proceeding to the place where your destiny will be buried, or where your sin will be buried and wiped out forever?
It’s the one you follow that determines your destination; the voice of resurrection and life is ringing from Calvary, calling on the children of men to amend their ways and go through the right path.
Those who listen to the voice and obey His commandments will have their sins removed, but those who block their ears with worldly pleasures and things that hold no value will meet themselves
at the end of the road they choose so soon.
Many are heading to the cross in the beginning, but when they see the sacrifices involved and things they needed to dispose of, they divert and prefer the road that demands no sacrifice on their side.
They hold to the things of the earth and lose the things of heaven; one must dump one to receive the other; you can’t hold both in your hands.
The moment we were born into the world, we were on the way to eternity. We move towards the grave the day we made our first cry on earth. It’s the mercy of God that redirects our steps and gives us a new life.
Those who believe in Jesus Christ won’t experience death but will transfer from death to life; that is the situation of those who pass the way of the cross to their destination; it will only result in the death of their carnal nature but bring life to their souls.
If we neglect the great salvation of following Him to the end, it won’t be palatable because it’s only in hell that the presence of God can’t be felt.
There are Christians who were supposed to be on the right way but followed the directions of their leader, who misled them and redirected their footsteps to the other side.
They abandoned the guidance of the holy spirit through the word of God and chose the doctrines of their leaders; what is called sin was changed to suit their flesh; immorality is termed fun, lying and hypocrisy is termed diplomacy, and pride is called self-respect, while ungodly fashion is called trends.
It’s only those who followed Jesus Christ to the end that won’t miss the road, because He is the Way.
Any other way of disobedience to the ordinances of the Bible will lead to self-extermination; what sinners think of enjoyment is torture and torment in disguise. It’s when your spiritual understanding is opened that you will see your real self and what you have been battling all along.
It’s when they reach hell that they will discover they have been under torment all this while thinking that it’s enjoyment without them knowing, because dead can’t feel the pangs of pain; likewise, spiritually dead can’t feel the pain of sin; it’s only the living and the quickened by the spirit of God that do, and they will try to come out of it through repentance.
Prayer: Father lord, direct me aright to your presence; don’t let me miss the road in Jesus name, amen
