Power to Tread on the Serpent

Power to Tread on the Serpent

Luke 10:19 ( Behold, I give you power to tread on the serpent and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.)

Our assignment in the kingdom of God is to launch offensive attacks into the camp of our enemy and set men free from the captivities of the powers of darkness.

Jesus Christ has given us power to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the powers of the enemy, and they will by no means hurt us.

Serpent in this contest represents Satan, while scorpions stand for demons and the fallen angels.

We were once bound by chains of Satan; it’s someone who prayed on our behalf and brought us out. We also need to pray for the salvation of others.

It’s our basic responsibilities the day we were translated into the kingdom of God; we become the weapons of war and battle axe in His hand; a Christian that’s not aware of this responsibility will fall prey to the wicked one and become his spoil once again.

Christians shouldn’t be on the defensive side; our responsibility is to launch a heavy blow to the kingdom of darkness and render them impotent and powerless.

Most Christians are afraid to even pray for the sick or captives because they’re afraid of repercussions that might follow.

Our enemy is using fear to hold us captives and make us surrender unconsciously to his threat.

We can’t sleep or take rest on the battle field without falling prey to enemy attacks, and we can’t compromise our faith in the face of persecution if we don’t want to end up as Satan’s servant.

Many are fighting in this battle using the armour of darkness as a shield. How can you fight with the devil’s weapon without becoming his prey?

Many Christians unknowingly go into battle with candles and incense to wade off the powers of their enemy. The prayer points of some Christians had no backing in the word of God. How will they end up as overcomers without having injuries from war?

God has given us potent armour, but how many of us are using it the way it is supposed to be used?

Some dumped their armour on the bed of fornications and adultery, while some dumped their own in beer parlour to liaise with unfriendly friends out there.

When the enemies of the Israelites wanted to tame them in the wilderness, they sent Balaam to curse them, but it wasn’t possible because God wouldn’t allow it as He couldn’t find any iniquity in them; later, Balaam advised the enemy to create a stumbling block on their way by inviting them to their feast and committing immorality with them in order to make their strength forsake them.

They invited them to their feast and became one together in adultery and fornications to the extent that the anger of God was kindled against them and thousands of them perished in the wilderness.

A born-again child of God has become separated from the world the day he confesses Christ as his lord and saviour.

He has become a heavenly ambassador and the representative of the most high wherever he finds himself.

Evil must bow at his presence as he carries the presence of God along wherever he is; he is to rule and dominate and have dominion to subdue according to how it was before the fall.

It’s unfortunate now that it’s now the other way around where a Christian will move from one house to the other because of the enemy’s presence in that community.

Some changed houses three times in a year for them not to die in the hands of their enemy; this is what gives Satan’s agent the upper hand to torment and threaten God’s children.

It’s only those who know their God that will exploit; those who don’t know their God will end up as captives and mediocres in their enemy’s camp.

Enemies are ready to launch an attack if we fail to do so. Most Christians only pray for protection but not for the deliverance of others; they can’t intercede on behalf of those who are in the enemy’s camp, but someone prayed for them before they knew God.

There are many strongholds erected by the forces of evil that we need to pull down before God is enthroned in man’s heart; there are places of their occupation that they must dislodge before God takes over.

It’s the body and souls of men they are using as their habitations to fight against humanity and the ordinances of God; they must be chased out and deliver men out of their hands.

It’s we that God will use as weapons in this battle; Jesus Christ has won the battle on our behalf over two thousand years ago. We need to stand up in this victory and stamp upon the powers of the enemy and disgrace it.

There are communities that Satan has occupied with stupid ideology and ungodly traditions that he must be chased out and overthrown to set up the kingdom of God in people’s hearts.

Our role as the ambassador of God is to set up His kingdom wherever man is found, and we’re privileged to be there, as it was in the beginning, and to multiply God’s kingdom on earth that’ll dominate and subdued.

We are to counter their demonic decision and counsel every ordinance against the people of the land.

If you’re a born-again Christian, how many territories have you won for Christ, or how many souls have you brought over to the kingdom of God through preaching?

How many captives have you set free through your prayers of deliverance in the community?

If you rely on your salvation and not fight for the salvation of others, your case isn’t different from the man that was given one talent and went to bury it, so that his master won’t see gain at His return.

Powers of darkness in your environment need to know that there is greater power in their midst, and if they refuse to bow, they will meet with destruction.

Once you occupy an area in your community, agents of darkness that don’t want to repent need to relocate. Because two drivers can’t operate in a vehicle, there must be only one throne in the land, and it belongs to the king of Zion.

Darkness must bow out for the light of God to illuminate, because you’re a light carrier in that community; but if that light in you turns to darkness, how great will the darkness be?

Christianity is not to dine and wine with the high and mighty of society; Christians are to uphold the authority of God’s kingdom wherever they find themselves and expand it.

I read a story of a man that rented an apartment, and within a week, the landlord came to the pastor of the man to report him and also asked him to leave the house. Why?

It’s because since that man came to the house, his wife was not able to go to their coven in the night, and her group punished her for not coming; it was the prayers of this brother that were preventing her from getting sick that caused her sickness.

If like ten of this brother occupied a community, that will be the end of Satan’s rule in that area. How much more if all Christians that are named with the name of the LORD are trying to exercise their authority over the forces of darkness, the world would have become like heaven with peace like a river.

It’s our defensive nature that allowed the devil to encroached into our midst to plant tares among the wheats; he brought his species as leaders to exercise authority over the people of God to make our gathering habitable for goats and foxes.

Instead of the church to launch into the deep and bring out great fishes for God from the ocean of the world, it’s Satan that is launching into our midst to lure men out with things that don’t hold value to the kingdom.

Whoever is empowered by God will be bold enough to launch attack into enemy’s territory to set captives free; all that Christ did while on earth was done for our sake, to show us that we can do more than Him if we believe in Him. to be continued
