Luke 13: 23,24 (Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, strive to enter in at the strait gate, for many I say unto you will seek to enter in and shall not be able.)
The narrow gate is what most Christians are trying to enter; that is why they attend church services and pay their tithes coupled with religious activities, but won’t be able to because of their filthy baggage and unnecessary attachment to the world.
A disciple once asked Jesus if only a few people would be saved.
Then the lord answered and said, strive to enter the straight gate, for many people are trying to enter, but they can’t.
It’s a pathetic sight to see men who are serving God all through their lives but were rejected in the end because many Christians think they are on the right side of God, not knowing that they have been rejected all along.
They didn’t meet the demands of His standards even though they worked in his vineyard.
If religion is the key to entering the divine presence, there is no need for Jesus to die for the sins of the whole world; religion is a leaf that Adam used to cover his nakedness in the garden before God sow the skin of the animals for his coverage.
This is the shadow of what Christ did to cover the nakedness of man exposed by sin, he died to destroy the power of sin and render impotent the poison of the serpent by his blood, which is the work of the flesh.
If a little sin is found in you, this means that the poison of the ancient serpent is still very active, and the blood of Christ wasn’t permitted to perform its ancient work in your life; this is what will disqualify you from entering the narrow gate.
It’s only the gates of hell that are wide enough to contain all the load of the flesh; an envious person can enter, so as thieves and greedy prideful fellows, it won’t reject them.
Those who mixed witchcraft with their Christianity can also enter, and it’s the gate that permits worldliness in the church of God.
If you truly desire to pass the Strait gate, you need to dump all the carryover of Egypt at the feet of the Cross by repenting of all sin and doing away with things that are offending your walk with God.
Don’t let anyone deceive you because many are called, but only a few are chosen; if you want to be among the chosen, you must truly turn back from the way of Adam and allow the spirit of God to take preeminence in the affairs of your life.
There won’t be any excuse on that day; your eating communion with him on the same table without doing His Will won’t exonerate you from coming judgment.
It’s not by listening to His sermon that you’re not ready to follow that will get you there, and not by performing signs and wonder in his presence that will get you the key; it’s only by doing His Will.
What God called sin two thousand years ago is still sin in this present generation; what He hated thousands of years is still what He abhors now; His word can never change so also His Way.
Sin is sin either by commission or omissions, and everyone will pay dearly if you do not allow the blood of Christ to intercede on your behalf and wipe your sins away.
Apostles came to notify Him about those who were killed by Herod’s sacrifice, and the LORD replied that it’s not that those who died are more sinners than they, unless they too repent of their wicked ways, they will likewise perish.
It’s the mercy of God that give time for repentance. If the door of mercy should close, nothing can be done about it.
Those who passed the strait gate successfully had forsaken the world and abandoned what makes it spin to follow the LORD to Calvary.
They don’t put the love of their parents above the love of Christ; they love Christ more than their lives.
They abandoned their comfort and did things that made God please with them.
Is it a believer who can’t abandon his comfort zone that will fellowship with Him in his kingdom?
Or your attachment that you can’t do without when Christ says you should abandon things for the sake of the kingdom and the cosmetics in your wardrobe that’s standing as obstacles to receive the grace of God?
If the fruit desired from you by God isn’t manifesting, whatever you do for Him shall become a waste on the day of judgment.
How can Christians who fight for a position of leadership in the congregation enter the strait gate?
When Jesus says categorically that whoever wants to lead should be a servant of all, whoever wants to lead should be ready to serve without dissimulation.
Some are trying to enter, but their pride won’t allow it; unless they dump their ego at the feet of the Cross, it will be an obstacle for them.
It’s not only sin that we must dump at Calvary in order to move forward in our relationship with God, there are things that’ll hinder us from entering His presence like things that’s pleasing to our body but injurious to the soul, some relationship we honoured more than God; ambitions that may hinder us from entering the gate of the kingdom.
Everything related to the flesh must be dumped at Calvary, that is where the flesh was crucified to give way to the operation of the spirit, and that is where Christ died to receive a glorified body that overcame death, this is what all His followers should do to enter the strait gate and receive glorification and the power that’ll also overcome death with Him.
The strait gate is the LORD Jesus Christ, He is the only door that we must pass through before we can get to heaven all other doors lead to destruction.
Prayer: My Father and my God, destroy everything in me that won’t allow me to enter through the Strait gate in Jesus name. Amen!
