Psalms 16:13 ( thou will show me the path of life, in thy presence is fullness of joy, at thy right hand there are pleasures forever more.)
Joy is different from happiness which can be obtained by physical means, but the fullness of joy can only be gotten in the presence of God, and pleasure can only be obtained at His right hand.
This is the lot of all who stayed in His presence all the days of their life; whichever way you want to obtain all these without getting to His presence will be through the works of the flesh, which the lord abhorred.
That is why it’s difficult for those who don’t have His presence to be joyful and gain pleasure; they fashion another way to gain these by introducing things that are against the knowledge of God and sin against His holiness.
It’s the perversion in the way of the flesh that makes people oppress others before they can be happy; they make others sad before they can have the pleasure of life.
Whoever doesn’t find his way to the presence of God will be at the watch of their enemy to do them whatever he wishes; they’re on the destructive list of satan to make their life miserable, so they won’t enjoy life to the fullest.
The happiness of the world lasts till the source of it is intact; the moment the source diminishes, so also their joy.
That is why you see some rich men killing themselves because of loosing their precious possessions.
Their hope and happiness is in their possession not in God; God tested Job to see if his hope was in Him by removing everything in his life to remain only God, his prove of faithfulness is that he thanked God even in sorrow.
It’s only in the presence of God that we can obtain and sustain the fullness of joy in this life because it’s only Him that must occupied the place of the world in man’s soul.
It will even last till eternity since we’ll dwell with Him forever to rejoice in His presence.
Most gatherings of the saints are not enjoying His fullness because they’ve degraded from seeking His presence to seek the face of man, that is why entertainment was introduced to the church to keep them alive, but they’re just a living corpse.
They preferred things as their source of joy to keep their depravity to the end.
Those who bring comedians to their church are making broken cisterns for themselves when they have forsaken the fountain of living water.
It’s gradual degradation from His presence that will gradually lead them to the pit of destruction.
People of the earth rely on the flesh as the source of happiness; they live in the dictation of the flesh to obtain the desire of their souls, but the hidden sanctum of the souls where God is supposed to dwell won’t be satisfied till the owner comes in.
This is the cause of dissatisfaction that plunged human souls into the fall because the owner had vacated, leaving it for the beast of the earth to invade.
Why are men avoiding the presence of God?
They hide from the light for the nakedness of their evil deeds not to be exposed which deadened their conscience and filled it with sorrow of facing their evil deeds in darkness.
It’s in the light of His presence that the work of darkness is exposed and chases satan out of his hidden place.
Most wealthy people are not joyful. They are pretending to be happy by filling their lives with ephemeral that don’t hold value; movies was created because of this, and amusement centres, with drugs and wine, to keep their souls alive and empower their flesh to increase their sorrow the more.
Since the fall, man has been living with the sorrows of the unknown, and they add religion to the pain as a spiritual opium that’ll make them forget it for a while; this is the fig leaves that covered Adam before God intervened and clothed them with skin.
This signifies that sacrifice must be made for man to enjoy God’s fullness. This is the shadow of the Son of God that must come to carry out the sacrifice.
The joy of man is hidden inside God; we can’t get it until we relocate back to His presence, that is, by accepting Jesus into our lives and allowing Him to take His rightful position.
If the world gives joy, they will take it back, but if it’s from God, it’s infinite.
Joy does not necessarily mean possessions but the satisfaction that one got with divine supplies; it means contentment.
It’s the presence of God that fills the gulf of human souls, and eradicates the spirit of greed created in Eden, and plunges man into the abyss of sorrow.
No man can ever be contented unless he is filled with God.
When you see the spirit of greed manifesting in a man, even if he is a Christian, that means he is lacking the presence of the highest; it’s evidence of the absence of God in a life.
The Bible says that contentment with godliness is a great gain; this is evidence of the fullness of joy in a life.
Prayer: Father lord keep me forever in your presence, don’t allow me to deviate out of your ways in Jesus name. Amen!
